KRAKOW UNDERCOVER: ALCHEMIA RESTOCLUB

Saturday dinner in Krakow. After the almost summer weather of last weekend, grey, rainy autumn seems to have popped its head. Thank you Poland. You could have spared me that. With no food in sight in my temporary home we had no choice, but to face the aura and find a place where we could eat. We arrived at the the cozy, bright light, easy relax place Alchemia in Jewish Quarter. The waiter suggested that the best food on the menu was home made sausages with mash. Of course, it was after my desire for fried wings was suddenly crushed, since it was no longer available.

I must say, I'm not very much a sausage eater. I just don't find it very appealing, but why not try something new while in Poland?

Dinner was quickly served. Full and hot plate, covered with sausages - small and thin (remind me of something else). I grabbed my knife and cut through sausage stick. To my disbelieve it was actually very tasty.

Sausage and mash compliment each other very Sunday dinner. If only it wasn't Saturday…

KRAKOW UNDERCOVER: THE FLEA MARKET

Today's to the semi antique market where you can find anything, from books to posters to rubbish. Some are piled on the ground in no particular order or style, while others are put behind the glass with "don't touch" signs all over. Looking from above to below is not easy, but I guess squatting plays a role in the search. I'm a good squatter anyway, so anything that sparkle my curiosity - hey, time to squat!

I like walking around flea markets for you may never know what treasures you may find. I guess you need a sharp pair of eyes to see through all the rubbish and find something what suits your wants. As they say one man's trash is another man's treasure.

I found three delicious, sparkly rings, all to fit on one finger. I bargained my price to buy all 3. Why just buy one?! I love rings. The more the merrier.

I also found some beautiful, handmade crochets lace trim pieces for the upcoming line of Remarkable Vintage collection.

Address: Hala Targowa, ul. Grzegorzecka
Market opens every Sunday 8 - 12.
Price range:  1 PLN +

KRAKOW

I am not a travel guide by any means. I come to Krakow for work, but while here I find that it is a city full of culture.

Both the Historic City Centre and the Jewish District are brimming with cafés, shops and pubs and the 10-acre Main Market Square is a medieval feast for the senses.  The buildings are beautiful in their own, unique way.

The city is old and young at the same time. It's hip and creative. You can find alcohol shops open 24/7, so if you like to drink or need to wash away your worries, it's the place to be… and get washed away.
