CAFTAN LOVE

Today we are of to meet Helene the owner of Helibazar, and it’s a lifestyle boutique at Cala de Bou, Sant Agusti. Helene told me she felt that Paris was no longer her home and in Ibiza she feels complete.

Just open over a year, Helibazar is where you can shop to your heart desire, drink a coffee, and jump into the pool to cool off after you just realize how much you have max out your credit card. There is shopping for both men and women.  The clothing items are one off pieces; pieces of stunning silk tunics, silk kaftan, modern jalabas and much more. Definitely my kind of shop. She sources her collection from various designers who she collaborates with to create pieces that is not found in any other shops on the island.

I wanted to talk to her about my upcoming clothing and jewelry collection since I thought that the pieces that I ‘m working on would sit perfectly in her shop. Fingers cross. Ok enough said, we went off  to see our friends at Atzaro Hotel and to shoot some photos thereafter to the Benerias beach to soak up the sun since it was going to be our last day on the White Isle. I went into the warm seawater and boy did it feel good. Spend the whole afternoon at the beach drinking a few cocktails before setting off to La Polama restaurant for dinner at Sant Llorenc Balafia. It was the best dinner that I had ever eaten, and the best red wine that I had ever drunk.

MEETING LOTTIE

Today the weather forecast is sunny and I am feeling great. Arriving at Soul Beach, Es Codolar, and the clouds has shaped itself into a star just to remind us that we are all stars. At Soul Beach tables are only available if you’re going to eat and the beach mattress are only available if you have booked, and that came with a bottle of champagne.

We had previously eaten so there was no way that we would eat again just to satisfy the waiter…so we sat on a blanket on the stones which was quiet annoying.  I had ordered my pina colada, which tasted as good as it looks. With such a view of the ocean and the sun basking against my skin it was well worth it. I also found a rose stuck into the stones, it was my find of the day which I took home as a souvenir.

First stop Sant Carles de Peralta there I found a great vintage shop and in there is where I met Lottie Bogotti, a child probably at the age of ten. She was working in her mother’s shop since her mother had hurt her back and could not move. Lottie was friendly and sweet. I was told by a local that children are allowed to start working early let’s say assisting at a young age, so they learn how to economize for later on, anyhow I was impress by how well Lottie was able to play her role of shop assistance.

I did find two gorgeous vintage dresses long to the floor and price was goedkoop, a phrase that is often used in the Netherlands. It is Saturday today and we made our way to Las Dalias market, which is very close to the village. There is no way you wouldn’t visit this well-known market if you were in Ibiza. I love markets vibes the atmosphere is always joyful, and the people are always friendly; I think in one of my past life I was definitely a trader.
Dinnertime arrived so we set off to our friends at Atzaro.com for dinner.

THE PULLING EFFECT

Today we are heading off to Santa Gertrudis in search of something delicious something like a chocolate dessert with a luscious coffee. Standing at the opposite side street in Santa Gertrudis facing an all white and red restaurant. I felt a sudden pull to this restaurant; something was telling me that this is the place that will fulfil my chocolate desire.
This place was practically empty, it was just a woman and child, and she seems to be finishing off her coffee, what looks like an espresso judging by the size of her cup. Greeting us was a gorgeous young woman who was very welcoming with her smile. I instantly felt an attraction towards her. I told her what I was in search of and voila it was possible.
The dessert was suppose to be a trio of chocolates; dark, brown and white chocolate mouse which had to be surrounded with melted chocolate sauce, but since I am not such a big fan of white chocolate I had to request my own concoctions.
The dessert was just out of this world; I was having a chocolate orgasm.
Too bad the coffee didn't turn out good enough for the hostess satisfaction, so we received the coffee on the house. Some coffee houses will sometimes not be so considerate, you will be serve bad coffee and will be charge three euros fifty for filthy coffee....I will definitely return to GK restaurant and to see my lovely new friend. I’ve forgotten her name, shame on me, but the contact has been made.

STRIPE AND THE CITY IBIZA

Today we are heading to the city of Ibiza for a spot of shopping and lunch.
I choose to wear Breton stripe with my everyday havaianas, because they are the most comfortable slippers ever. Stripes never goes out of style, such a classic.
We look through shops after shops… I love visiting shops it seems like it gives me such a boost of energy; the satisfaction is more in the looking than the actual purchasing. The stylist in me gets excited.  Adding onto the outfit is my newly purchase wide brim hat, since it’s quite a sunny day. In the end I did purchase a lovely black studded fringe bag, which you will see later.

We are revisiting In&Out Restaurant Fusion Asiatic where we ate the previous year at the Place des Parque since the food was so good.  I choose for prawns with vermicelli, very disappointing since I found it was tasteless but under the other hand the dessert was so delicious, dessert of tarte-tartin with ginger ice cream. Nom, nom, nom

After departing the city we were heading north to Sluiz www.sluizibiza.com.
Sluiz is amazing lifestyle conceptual store there you will find everything from interior to fashion. We enjoyed a delightful smoothie. I made a new friend doesn’t his horn suit me? Later on in the day we embrace the sun and ended the day with dinner and sunset at Elements www.elements-ibiza.com at Benerias beach.
